Software Restriction In Xp

Most of the time we need to block a specific software or program for various reason. When we restrict a specific software then it is not run. We can implement it on any kind of software. We can perform it by the following step:-

"First of all go to the "Control Panel" then go to the "Administrative Tools", then go "Local Security Policy" then select the "Additional Rule" under the Software Restriction policy" from the left panel. Now right click the "Additional Rule" and then select "New Path Rule" then select the "Browse" option and locate the your desire software which you want to restrict and at the same time ensure that the "Disallowed" option is selected. If you want, you write something about this restriction under the "Description" tab. Now the graphically showing about that performing activities.

First of all go to the "Control Panel"


then select the "Administrative tools"





then select the "Local Security Policy"




then you will appear the "Local Security Console" like that


then select the "Additional Rule" under the "Software Restriction Policy"


then right click the "Additional Rule" and then select "New Path Rule"

Now you will appear "Path Rule" interface


now select the "Browse" and then locate the {.exe} file of software such as {firefox.exe}which you want to block .


now locate the desire software .exe file and at the same time ensure that "Disallowed" is select under the "Security Level" tab.

generally the software exe file located in under the C: drive - Program files folder.

ensure the "Disallowed" is selected.



if you want, you write something "Description" tab


now that software is disallowed. Now it's not open. To allowed this software, that "Path Rule" delete which you create to restrict it. Now the software is allowed and open every time.
