The DNS server is used to convert the name to IP address information. This is called the name resolution process. When a specific domain address is entered on the browser then it needs to convert that domain address to IP address information. In such a situation, the DNS server helps us to convert that address. In this tutorial, we are going to learn that how to configure a DNS server in the MikroTik router.
From the IP menu, click on the DNS option.
After opening the DNS configuration page, write your forwarder DNS address or the ISP's DNS address in the "Servers" field. We assume that our ISP's DNS address is 45.45.45.45. Then we will enable the "Allow Remote Requests" feature. Just click on the check box. The rest of the things keep the default.
After clicking on the "Apply" and "OK" button, our internal user or local user gets DNS service from this router.
