Generally "Kaspersky" internet security, update through the internet connection. But if you want, you update it through the workgroup pc or computer. One of the pc of workgroup collect update data from internet, and after data collect, then distribute to another computer.To perform this task, it is necessary to one pc connected to internet. That pc collect update data from internet and save his local hardisk to distribute. Generally that location is "Window's drive > Document's and Settings > All User > Application Data > Kaspersky Lab > AVP11 > Update Distribution. [Please inform that, "AVP 11" folder name is vary it's version no.] Generally, by default, "kaspersky " not saved update information when update is complete. You must enable this feature using the "kaspersky" console.
Please follow the following step about "Kaspersky Internet Security 2011" to enable this feature :-
First of all open the "Kaspersky" console and go to the "settings" tab
then click the "Update Center"
Now check the option "Copy Update To Folder".
Now kaspersky download the update database and save the above location . If you want, you change this location here :-
To share the kaspersky update to other workgroup computer, please share the "Update distribution" folder of that location with correct permission.
Now go to the another workgroup pc and open the "Kaspersky" console. Then go to the update center and then click "update source"
Now please uncheck the "Kaspersky lab update service"
And then click "add" option and locate that share folder. Now "Kaspersky", update information collect from that pc which are located and no need to internet connection. If you want, you update "Kaspersky" in remote pc by the pendrive. Just copy the "update distribution" folder or shared folder in your pendrive and change the source address or location in remote PC for "Kaspersky" update, by the located that pendrive or update folder.
