Bandwidth Test Mikrotik Router

The BTest Server or Bandwidth test server is used to measure, how many bandwidths I will get from that link. The link for which, we want to verify the available bandwidth, we have to connect to the bandwidth test server from one bandwidth test client using that link. Then bandwidth test client sends some traffic to the bandwidth test server until the link bandwidth is full. In this way, the bandwidth test client determines how many bandwidths is available for that link.

Mikrotik has a build-in tool to measure the available bandwidth for the link named "BTest Server". And also has one built-in bandwidth test client named "Bandwidth Test".

To accept measurement requests from a client, first of all, we have to enable "BTest Server". For that, just open the "BTest server" and click on "Enable".

We can enable the "Authenticate" feature if we want. As a result, if any client wants to connect with this BTest server, then that client will be asked for user credentials. If the client can provide the right credential, then that client will be allowed to test the available bandwidth using this BTest Server otherwise not.

From the "Sessions" button we can view the user list, who is already connected with this BTest server for testing available bandwidth.

We already know that Mikrotik has a built-in tool to connect to the BTest server. Using that client tool, we have to write the BTest server IP address and user name as well as password to authenticate with that BTest server.

In the "Test To" field we have to write down our BTest server IP address and "User" and "password" field we have to provide user credentials. And then finally, we will click on the "Start" button to initiate the measurement process.

The result will be shown as a unit view and graph view also.

All the work is done.
