VMware Bridge to Specific Network Adapter

In the VMware Workstation program, we can select the network connection mode for our virtual network adapter.

To build a connection with the physical network from our virtual machine, we have to use the "Bridge" network mode. This mode is responsible to transfer all the traffics from our virtual network adapter to a physical network adapter. If we have multiple physical network adapter attached with our host machine, then which physical network adapter is going to be selected to bridge with our virtual network adapter, by default VMware application will take this decision automatically. But it is possible to select manually, which physical network adapter is going to be used to bridge with the virtual network adapter. In this tutorial, we are going to learn that.

In the VMware Workstation, we can use the "Virtual network editor" tool to specify the physical network adapter, which will be bridged with our virtual network adapter.

To open this tool, go to "Edit" from the VMware Workstation menu bar and click on the "Virtual network editor" tool.

After opening the "Virtual Network Editor" tool, go to the "VMnet Information" section. Here you will find the interface selection option "Bridge to", which has pre-configured with the "Automatic" value.

Now change this "Automatic" value with your desired network interface card. Simply click on the drop-down menu and select your network card.

After applying this setting on the "Virtual Network Editor" tool, virtual computer will connect to the physical network or host computer using this network interface card (ASIX AX88179 USB), which we have selected.
